My History

I grew up in Orange County with a natural instinct to help people release tension. As a kid, I gave my first massages on our houseboat after friends and family took spills while water-skiing behind my dad’s boat.

In high school I joined athletic training and spent summers working in a physical therapy office, learning how bodies heal and how to work with the tight, angry muscles of athletes.

I began college as a physical therapy major. Near the end of my sophomore year I developed my own back problem—an enlarged facet joint that caused ongoing pain. Physical therapy and chiropractic care helped, but it was massage that finally gave me lasting relief.

That experience changed my path. I became a massage therapist so I could offer others the same kind of relief that had been life-changing for me. At Restful Refuge Massage, I combine the principles I learned in athletic training, physical therapy, and my own recovery to help clients feel better in body and mind.
